Syria Forces Kill Mother, Two Children

Syrian security forces shot dead a mother and her two children fleeing an army assault on the eastern city of Deir al-Zour on Monday, the Syrian Observatory for Human rights cited residents as saying.

"The woman and her two children were trying to flee the Huweika district for somewhere safer when they were targeted by a security patrol," the rights group quoted residents as saying, adding that the father of the family was wounded.

Activists said security forces on Monday carried out search operations after using heavy machine guns in Deir al-Zour.

"The army opened up with heavy machine guns on Al-Jura district. Security forces then launched a search sweep, terrorizing residents," one activist in the city said.

He said a number of people were arrested and added that security agents also burned several motorcycles.

Activists said security forces backed by tanks killed 42 civilians in Deir al-Zour, 430 kilometers northeast of Damascus, on Sunday.

Meanwhile, witnesses and activists reported tanks and armored personnel carriers entering Maaret al-Numan in the northwestern Idlib province bordering Turkey and carrying out "a large number of arrests."

Overnight, several demonstrations were reported in the central city of Homs after the evening prayers.

"Security forces and regime militias used live ammunition against protesters, wounding at least one person," the Syrian Observatory said.

Whatever you write here and try to impose the false reports from organiziations that are based somewhere in London and have no credibility, you must know, that people in Deir Zor fed up from the criminals imposing check points and killing and leanching... Sorry, but it is just very sad, and Syrians want their security back and they do not want this criminal elements with support of Wahabbists and West gaining ground in Syria, this will not happen, not in close future..

How dare you Naharnet net publishing the truth about the savagery of the Syrian regime? according to this moron named Nazaret you should rely only on Syrian and Iranian press who are under complete control of a corrupt system, and for those Lebanese who are living in a state of denial should wake up and see these massacres as they are happening and not wait for some politicians who tell them lies only. the looks on the face of our so called foreign minister while meeting the little dictator is one of disgust and shame and should consider a testicles implant to become a man LOL.

Nazaret, you are delusional.

No, Nazaret is not delusional...... he just talked to the Syrian people there and he knows how they feel..... How he writes one is led to believe he gets their news by the minute and they confide in him. That is how all Hizb Al Shabeeha supporters are...... delusional is nothing...... They have eyes but don't wish to see.... they have ears, but don't wish to hear..... Their beloved Jazeerah has now become also a zionist station. Just go watch and see coz trying to argue with people like this is useless. I am sure this mother and her 2 babies are also armed gangs! Hateful prejudice people.....

Shameful. We need to support the Syrian ppl. Hopefully the Lebanese as a people and a government will wake up and have the balls to stand on the right side of history. Bashar and his regime has to go.

I can't believe Hizballah is continuing to disgrace itself by support this tyrant just to keep its weapons supply line active. Shame shame shame!!! They really have to find another way to survive and start acting honorably if they expect the Arab Umma to have any respect for them after this.

Nazaret, I respect other people' opinions. But I do not respect people who tolerate human rights violations, killing of innocent people and incarceration of tens of thousands of civilians without trials.
The syrian people is fed up from your regime, all the killings, injuries and abuses and your Assad's Baath regime is only going down by the will of the People who seek their freedom.
When you are accepting and defending the Assad atrocities, you are just an accomplice too and you should be tried.

The Baath mentality is all about eliminating anyone who threaten their rule without any compassion or consideration. Below is a link to a youtube video of a Baath high senior member, stating without any hesitation, that the killing of the demonstrators is a duty and needs to be imposed.

Try to defend this criminal, Nazaret.
