Bulgaria to Extradite Terror Suspect to Germany

A Bulgarian regional court said on Friday it had agreed to extradite a man wanted on terror charges in Germany.

Sulaiman Sidiqi, who was born in Kabul and has dual Afghan-German nationality, is suspected of being a member of "a terrorist organization", the Plovdiv Regional Court said in a statement.

He was arrested on Saturday by agents from Bulgaria's State Agency for National Security (DANS).

"There is data that Sidiqi was a member of a terrorist organization professing an ideology close to that of al-Qaida and has undergone training in a military camp in the region of the Afghan-Pakistan border," DANS has said in a statement.

However, Sidiqi had not engaged in any terrorist activities in Bulgaria, it added.
