Unknown assailants on Monday assaulted a Syrian man who is a resident of the Tripoli neighborhood of Jabal Mohsen.

“Syrian national Ahmed Ibrahim Ali was assaulted in the al-Qobbeh neighborhood” in Tripoli, state-run National News Agency reported, noting that the man was born in 1989 in the northern city.

Ali was rushed to hospital for treatment and LBCI television noted that he is a resident of Jabal Mohsen.

Meanwhile, Abdul Latif Saleh, spokesman for the Arab Democratic Party – the main political and armed force in Jabal Mohsen – confirmed the attack in remarks to al-Jadeed TV.

More than 20 attacks have targeted Jabal Mohsen residents in several areas of Tripoli in recent months.

The most recent incident took place on January 6, when unknown attackers beat up a Jabal Mohsen resident in the neighboring al-Baqqar district.

Tensions between Jabal Mohsen and the rival district of Bab al-Tabbaneh date back to Lebanon's 1975-1990 civil war but have been exacerbated by the conflict across the border in Syria, where Alawite President Bashar Assad is battling a Sunni-led uprising.

The unrest worsened when twin bombings rocked two Sunni mosques in the city, leaving around 45 people dead and 500 others wounded. Several suspects from Jabal Mohsen have been accused of involvement in the bombings.

Human Rights Watch has recently urged Lebanese authorities to better protect minority Alawites who are increasingly coming under attack by Sunnis in Tripoli.

The article reads and I quote, "More than 20 attacks have targeted Jabal Mohsen residents in several areas of Tripoli in recent months."

Then the article reads and I quote, "Assault targeted Al-Tebaneh, AlQubeh or any M14-Saudi people are also.... none existence."

But the Lebanese prime-minister's spiritual-leader, Saudi-resident said and I quote, "We are against the infighting between Sunnis and Alwaites in Tripoli."

Although no attack targeting M14-Saudi is reported.

The only explanation to this confusion between facts and what the leader of M14-Saudi people, Saudi-resident is this: M14-Saudi people are not reporting any incidents against them.

Mystic, Legit - When the militia in Jabal Mohsin bombs Tripoli with mortars, that is not a crime! When members of the Jabal Mohsin Militia get implicated with the bombings, it is not a crime. When the Hizb kills a demonstrator and attacks others, that is not a crime. When the Hizb refuses to hand over the accused in the murder of Hariri, is that not a crime? Those who attack our brothers and sisters in Jabal Mohsin or anywhere should be arrested and should face the full weight of the law. But those who condone crimes and refuse to hand over killers are the last one who should talk.

Don't forget jabal Mohsen is under siege, each time they are attacked. Ofcourse they use mortars the salafis do the same to the people of Jabal mohsen, they got the right to defend themselves against the aggressors.

I agree that they should stop attacking innocent civilians. But they should attack Ali Eid (and anyone defending him) until he submits to the judiciary. After all Mr. Eid is responsible for terrorist activities.
