Mustaqbal: Real Iranian Support for Lebanon Lies in Making Hizbullah Withdraw from Syria

The Mustaqbal parliamentary bloc stated on Thursday that it looks forward to the establishment of Iranian-Lebanese ties based on mutual respect to each country's people, lamenting that this has not yet happened.

It said after its weekly meeting: “Iranian support for Lebanon does not lies in diplomatic statements, but in ceasing to employ Hizbullah in the fighting in Syria.”

The bloc made its remarks in light of Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammed Javad Zarif's recent visit to Lebanon.

Commenting on the launch of the trial of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon, the Mustaqbal bloc said: “The launch demonstrates that the rights of the martyrs will not die and that the criminals will not escape punishment.”

“The criminals will be exposed before the Lebanese, Arab, and international communities and they will be held accountable for their actions, which will serve to protect the future and safety of Lebanese political life,” it added.

The proceedings of the STL trial got underway at The Hague on Thursday.

It is aimed at trying the suspects behind the February 2005 assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.

The Mustaqbal bloc also condemned Thursday's bombing in the Bekaa region of al-Hermel that left at least three people dead and 26 wounded.

“Such a bombing serves the enemies of Lebanon, stability, and coexistence,” it continued.

It urged the concerned security and judicial agencies to intensify their efforts to uncover the criminals and terrorists behind this attack.

I cannot but agree here with Mustaqbal, it's only fair now. The truth is that Hezbollah should have never meddled in Syria, period. Now we surely will get a side telling us that if Hezbollah didn't meddle, the Takfiris would have crossed over to Lebanon, OK, let's say we bought the argument, then how about if I answered that it only re-enforces the view that in this case Hezbollah, if it stayed in Lebanon, would have joined forces with us all and the state in defending Lebanon in a much better way. OK, it's been confirmed that foreign Intel has been visiting Damascus to exchange info with the regime which now is gaining finally recognition that it is NOW fighting terrorism, as it gains territory, as the rebels are now locked in a deadly cycle of killings, maybe soon Hezbollah should trim its wings and return back home. Enough of false reasons, and even more, enough of bad invitations to our land.

could not agree more with you. Indeed Hizbullah could gain legitimacy in joining its force with that of the army to eventually integrate the authority of the Lebanese Army and government. This not only reinforces Lebanon, the control of all the borders and takes away any valid reason from the terrorist takfiris from attacking Lebanon.

of course this is public information by now. Large numbers of ISIL members were liberated from Iraki and Syrian jails.

(1).Cedre, I believe that by now, you should know where I stand with Bachar Al Assad. This man, and his regime were never my friends and never will. If you read my postings when the war started, you would have seen that I wished this man went, to be finally replaced by a system that reflected the new Syria, they the Syrians wanted. OK, now we all know what happened after, so no need to spill ink unduly on that. Today, in 2014, we all need to look at what might be best for the Syrians. Given the strengths on the ground in Syria, it looks clear that there's not one side that can push off the other, so would stalemate be best for Syrians their neighbors? I think not, maybe today it is best that all of them sit down at the same table, talk and compromise.

(2). Cedre. Then to Hezbollah, as I said, it cannot live in La la land anymore, the realities confronting it, and in fact us all, mean that HA should return back home, join the fold, disarm and continue purely as a political party. Its alternatives for it and us all? We all know, but I'm running low on ink right now, if you caught my drift.

Yes Roar brother, me too I am beginning to see that bigger picture. At the end of the day, we are Lebanese, we are all the same, we all belong to the bigger family of Lebanese people. No one is always right, no one is always wrong. haven't we in the LF made our own mistakes too? Sure we did. What matters most, is that we Lebanese from now on begin to live with the bigger picture, that nothing can replace our beloved Lebanon, let us form now on begin to work together, instead of against each other. We've seen how foreigners quickly enter our wars and turn us all upside down. The people at Hezbollah are not my enemies, on the contrary, they are my siblings, but they should NOT continue with their wrongs too, for now, the time is drawing near to come back home, believe me, no one wishes them harm, but good.

Hizbollah are deceivers don't be conned into beleiving they are a resistance just who are they resisting certainly not izrael . As long as Iran finance these deceivers Iran should not be welcome into lebanon if hizbollah disarm and form a political party as they are entitled to but they have to follow the lebanese constitution only and abide by the decissions of parliment and not turn every argument into conflict .

Its also time lebanon takes the bold decision about the palestinian refugees and either they disarm and abide by the lebanese goverment and its law enforcement or get out of lebanon and go to Jordan with their other country men lebanon owes the palestinians nothing we don't have to fight their war this is our country ( Lebanon) not theirs why should we sacrifice our freedom and soverenity for them what have they done for us apart from help destroy our country.
