Nasrallah to Stress Hizbullah’s Ability to Defeat Israel as Qassem Slams March 14

Hizbullah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah is expected to deliver a televised speech at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday on the latest developments in Lebanon, Hizbullah’s Media Relations Department announced.

Nasrallah will deliver his speech on the fifth anniversary of July 2006 war. The “Dignity and Victory” rally will be held at al-Raya Stadium in Beirut’s Southern Suburbs.

A Hizbullah source told al-Liwaa newspaper on Tuesday that the first part of the speech will focus on the victory that the resistance achieved during the 2006 war against Israel, stressing the role of the resistance in liberating the land and holding onto the arms to halt the Israeli attacks.

It said that “Nasrallah will prove that the resistance has the capability to defeat any possible Israeli attack.”

The source told the daily that the speech will tackle the maritime borders issue as Nasrallah will reiterate the equation of maritime deterrence, hinting that Hizbullah will use its rockets that “can reach the Israeli depth if it tried to extract oil or gas from Lebanon’s waters.”

Meanwhile, As Safir newspaper reported that Hizbullah’s chief is expected to address the Special Tribunal for Lebanon probing the assassination of ex-PM Rafik Hariri.

Nasrallah will stress during his speech that the indictment, which named four Hizbullah members, is “targeting the resistance” to help Israel.

The party’s deputy leader, Sheikh Naim Qassem, slammed on Monday the March 14-led opposition, re-accusing it of advising the U.S. and urging Israel to continue the July 2006 war to finish Hizbullah.

These forces “classified themselves as an opposition after the cabinet led by PM (Najib) Miqati was formed. However, all we see is an opposition suffering from chaos,” Qassem said.

He urged the opposition not to “repeat the backing down experience,” saying that “whatever you did the cabinet is formed and will launch its work.”

We are sick of you... sick of your appearances, sick of your repetitive twisted logic, sick of your hatred, sick of your arrogance and ignorance..... but most of all we are sick of you enforcing your primitive cult on the way we want to live. I am sick of seeing people who consider themselves religious interfere in politics!

Sick is right! Sick of him and his party attempt to drag the nation to war. Does he really think he can defeat Israel? Egypt and Jordan, with much stronger armies than Hezballah, made peace with Israel because they knew that even if they could defeat Israel it would require the complete destruction of both nations in order to do so.

Ouch, extremely problematic and defiant; hopefully, he is not tempted to launch a war in a bid to create distraction from STL?..

@Le Phenicien, denial is a terrible thing. This is all you have to say when he is clearly attempting to pick a fight with Israel? In an attempt to distract the country from local issues no less! Sure, stand by him. But if one innocent Lebanese civilian dies from a fight he picks with Israel it will be blood on your and his hands! You both will be just as guilty of murder as the Israelis! Let the Lebanese live in peace! With the millions of local problems Lebanon has you want to create worse ones? Your twisted logic, denial, and ignorance never cease to amaze me.

'Stress Hizbullah’s Ability to Defeat Israel' . i guess he thinks us kidnapping a solider and shooting a few missiles on empty playgrounds in Israel is a victory.. in return for this victory, we will get more devastation, mass killing, our entire infra structure and tourism destroyed, plus make us look like a bunch of radical Islamic hell bent on genocide of the Jewish people.. keep ur victories for yourself.. my victory is a prosperous civil society with a military enforcing our laws and the international community backing up and enforcing a peace treaty along BOTH our borders..Hizbs idea of paradise is dying in combat, mine is seeing my kids live comfortably in my beautiful country..

We do not want to defeat Israel like Hassan did in 2006! Please no one wants more of your illusionary "Victories".
Lebanon does not need to defat Israel but to become a true nation with a functioning government to guarantee its sovereignty and the liberties of the Lebanese.
Negativity and animosity do not build nations. Nassrallah's crowd is thinning because his message is old and rotting and his party's true purposes are becoming more evident.
Make another speech from your underground bunker and let the few left who are blinded by sectarianism or by spite enjoy your empty posturing one more time.

I wonder if the families of the thousands of innocent Lebanese who were killed as a direct result of Nasrallah starting the 2006 war will be invited?

Thumb will_rogers 26 July 2011, 12:55

@will_rogers: it seems to me that you still too young talking, did your mother give the milk for today? I just ask, because big issues are only handled by great people, one example will be seen this evening; Sayyed Nasrallah will appear.

What "Dignity" and what "Victory" is he talking about? Neither he nor any of his thugs dare glance towards Israel (at least in the past 5 years), even after accusing it of killing his beloved 2nd in command in Damascus.
Soon enough he will have to face the music.

Of course of course my dear Le phenicen, MOU is the base of life itself , the universe, creation, between the mighty gods Aounseidon and Nasrallahzeus,.. wake up and stop fooling yourself , MOU is in reality MOS : Memorandum of Submission, signed by the insect general Aoun to the benefit of the piglord Nasrallah, and to the greater benefits of 2 disgusting regimes, Syrian and Iranian, Hezbollah is nothing but a tool, an agent for Mossad, CIA, MI6, everybody has its piece of cake in it, and you are beeing fooled every day, Hezbollah's only goal is Lebanon, not palestine or anything else, once its completed , he will never touch Israel, as they are working together since 82, no palestinian dare fire any bullet from south Lebanon, isnt it in their interests? and why make peace with leb? itll be a competing economic adversary so might as well leave it to rot with this shitty militia called Hezb.

Bravo Le phénicien and Bigdig and the rest of brainwashed people, soon , general will fall.

His speeches are becoming more like Obama's. All talk. Everyone knows that with Syria in turmoil, Israel having developed a countermeasure to Israeli rockets, that Hezbollah is more vulnerable than ever in a military engagement with Israel. Hezbollah has thus made more effective use of its weapons to take over the Lebanese government and thus control its host state in anticipation of the fall of its protector, the Assad Regime of Syria.

Controlling the Lebanese government, Hezbollah has only the power to resist the free will of the Lebanese people to control their own destiny as a nation in a free republic. The "resistance weapons", used as an intimidating threat, work well against the Lebanese.

However, against others, the weapons will never be used as they are useless.

Israel will fall from having exhausted its water resources trough overuse, not by Hezbollah's weapons or anyone else's.
