STL: Trial in Hariri Assassination Set for January 16, 2014
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةThe Trial Chamber of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon has scheduled the start of trial in the case of Ayyash et al. for Thursday, January 16, 2014, announced the STL in a statement on Tuesday.
It explained: “This decision has been made after consulting the parties to the case at the Trial Chamber’s last public hearing.”
The trial will commence at 9:30 CET with opening statements by the Prosecutor, the Legal Representatives of the Victims participating in the proceedings, as well as opening statements, if any, for the Defense.
The Trial Chamber has also announced that there will be a Pre-Trial Conference starting at 10:30a.m. CET on January 9, 2014.
The STL was set up to tackle the 2005 assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.
In 2011, it indicted four Hizbullah members,Mustafa Amin Badreddine, Salim Jamil Ayyash, Hussein Hassan Oneissi, and Assad Hassan Sabra, were indicted in the attack.
A fifth Hizbullah suspect, Hassan Habib Merhi, was indicted in 2013.
Earlier in December, STL spokesman Marten Youssef said that joining the cases of Ayyash et al. and Merhi is up to the international judges.
Hizbullah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah has rejected the STL, describing it as an American-Israeli product bent on destroying the party.
He has vowed never to cooperate with the tribunal, saying that the suspects, who remain at large, will never be found.

I guess they were acting on their own..
Just waste our money away on Hariri trials that happend years ago. Accuse people without proof. I only got this to say, just like you will never get Ali Eid, you will never get the accused listed above, end of story. Good day
Says the canadian with a anti bashar logo, hmm good riddance western guy, don't come back.
Happy holidays, btw. How does it feel that Al Assad is still in power :) Not what you expected hmm? :((

Hahahahahah
"He has vowed never to cooperate with the tribunal, saying that the suspects, who remain at large, will never be found"
Lol rofl
Soon as in it wont go away and the truth will be known. Nothing worse than having dirty laundry hanging out in public right roar? Or should I call you FT?
I dont think finding out who is behind mass assasinations is a waste of money. I call it money well spent. What do you suggest? Forget about and move on huh?
Who should I use as my source of info? Wiam Wahab? Raad? Pls help me see the light, I want to become like an M8'er, they seem to know all and they can even predict things like assasinations and where the next car bomb is going off.
Wikipedia is a world renowned site for factual information. ie most of the world uses it. If you tell me more about your world i would be more than happy to look at it. Wait I dont read farsi..
For sure everyone aligned with the STL will believe in its outcome and all others will discredit it. The outcome will not sway public opinion in Lebanon simply because politics, political affiliation and eliminating the other is above all else in Lebanon. One thing no one will be able to influence is, the court findings and decisions nor can they question the truth off its verdict. The justice system and the science behind the evidence will be irrefutable, but again, it will not make a difference because the truth is not important to Lebanese.
sure we are still waiting for hezbollah to give their evidence that israel killed hariri and all the others plus the poor innocent lebanese for which M8 does not care...
funny they haven't given it yet... because they know it is all fake!
Can't believe to this day this man called Hassan Nasrallah still on the loose, and directing the policy of the country at gunpoint ! Had a government prominent politician in the basij country been executed, the way Hariri was , no money , no time would have been wasted, no countless scientific forensic evidence collected : He would have been hanging down the rope within a week ! But of course, in our beloved country this could have never happened…..The serial killers are from the same side, the victims too..Except that recently the contract killers of the hizb started getting the taste of their own methods! Hope this continues!
Well, the tribunal started the day Hassan Nasrallah started defending himself and his terrorist group before anyone accused him of anything.
He's on trial whether he likes it or not. In fact, he will appear on TV to defend his assassins as soon as a sentence in absentia is pronounced with PROOF.
