Report: Fifth Suspect in Hariri Assassination Identified

إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربية W460

A new suspect linked to the 2005 assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri has been identified, reported the daily An Nahar on Tuesday.

It said that the identity of the suspect was determined based on the initial findings of former United Nations investigator in the case Detlev Mehlis.

Mehlis' 2005 report on the murder said that a number of high-ranking Lebanese and Syrian officials were involved in the crime.

He however did not name any of the officials.

Hariri and 22 others were killed in a massive car bomb in Beirut on February 14, 2005.

An indictment by the Special Tribunal for Lebanon investigating the crime accused four Hizbullah members of being involved in the attack.

Hizbullah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah has slammed the tribunal, saying that it an American-Israeli product bent on destroying the party.

He vowed that the party will not cooperate with the STL and that the suspects will never be found.

stl: "happy?? more moneys pls"

Thumb _mowaten_ 08 October 2013, 12:05

what a joke.. a caricature of a political tribunal naming out names but not showing evidence. tens of thousands of hours of "testimonies" is all they got, and hoping to drown the people with sheer masses of crap.

Thumb _mowaten_ 08 October 2013, 12:50

yay, i have my very own zionist puppy shill! not very useful, he just follows me everywhere and yaps the same thing all the time, but he's always there for me and that is very touching.

Thumb _mowaten_ 08 October 2013, 13:04

lol FT. also note that now the STL speaks through leaks in an nahar, as opposed to der spiegel.

i'm sure ice-man will agree that this is how an exemplary tribunal works. you know since he's the expert giving the crucial"+1's", we really need him to agree here.

I am thinking that since 2005, even without exerting too much effort, a party wrongfully accused of a crime should be able to surface and present some exculpatory evidence, other than blame Israel, Zionist and the U.S. Most of us know that the guilty parties cross party lines. Look it, yes, the U.S. and Israel are very well capable of carrying out covert operations to execute leaders who are a threat to their national security, and most of the time they are not too shy about it. But no one can extend the benefit of the doubt to H.A. without including and protecting the interests of Iran and Syria.

Thumb _mowaten_ 09 October 2013, 12:28

it did already present evidence, but they were ignored because it didnt fit the predefined storyboard of the STL.

also, nobody has to present exculpatory evidence, especially when incriminating evidence was never produced. first let the STL back its accusations with evidence, then we'll see.

Thumb _mowaten_ 09 October 2013, 12:32

Thumb _mowaten_ 08 October 2013, 14:09

lol exactly, even before the investigation the culprits were designated.

Missing peace 08 October 2013, 18:35

" even before the investigation the culprits were designated."

yes your friend aoun said it was the syrians...

Thumb _mowaten_ 08 October 2013, 18:46

and so? aoun's being wrong in making accusations before anything is known makes it alright that culprits are designated before the investigation?
.......
that childish, no sorry, not childish, i meant that RETARDED way of justifying wrongs with some other wrongs is so widespread among you guys, it is sad.

Missing peace 08 October 2013, 19:06

just to make you think of what you say trying to say only M14 are idiots because they accuse syria while your ally did the same!!!

and you are soooo funny in trying to appear smarter than experts, judges, lawyers, international laws ... to pretend that you are right and the whole world is wrong! to pretend that dozens of experts from all over the world were all politicized, to pretend to know better than judges how a tribunal and a trial function, to pretend to know what is in the hands of the tribunal in terms of evidence..... LOL

Missing peace 08 October 2013, 19:09

"even before the investigation the culprits were designated."
yes suspicions turn to syria because they already used the same methods in killng lebanese presidents and politicians, walaw!

Thumb _mowaten_ 09 October 2013, 12:34

if you can get this it will be a wonderful start.. no one is your friend around you so why call one brother and the other satan? cant be that biased, its all misinformation and many buy it unfortunately.

Wolf, I have no problem with immunity, if they confess to carrying out this heinous crime. The lock down of downtown Beirut, the walk out by the shaii Ministers, and the ongoing refusal to integrate the arms and forces in the LAF are all aimed to discredit the IT and their arms are protection against the IT's and the Lebanese final judgment of them. It's a case of " Yeah we did it, and what are you going to do about it".
On a final note, it's good to see that their obvious involvement is now being debated instead of the crap that came out in defence of HA. If the assassination was justified in some form or means, it would have been a more honourable approach than the redicules defence they fed their sheep, and wanted us to believe.
You are the first Aouni that is realistic and has voiced the obvious.

Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah...... another saint will be canonized soon. God Bless the Islamic Secular Resistance for nurturing, training, and cultivating saints born and raised in the holy land of the cedars and trained by the Islamic Republic of Iran to perform "healing" miracles on their opponents. The resistance is not only a military war machine but a religious institution where saints and miracles are made very much like the Vatican. The Catholics have the Vatican, the Shia have Dahiyeh. The Catholics have the Pope canonizing Saints, the Shia have Sayyed Hassan canonizing mehdi Saints. God Bless the new Saint Abbas and we all wish him the best in his new mission of religious purity.

.....BREAKING NEWS.....
The 5th suspect is none other than Joseph Abou Fadel. But wait. There is a 6th, and he is Faysal Abdul Sater. However, the 7th is Ghassan Jawad. The 8th is Rafik Nasralla. The 9th is Amin Hteit. The 10th is yet to be identified. The farce is getting more and more lame as time goes by.

Thumb arzak-ya-libnan 08 October 2013, 13:55

oh... is it surprising that there are a number of suspects? you think there should be ONE man capable of doing it all??
and you call this a farce???

The UN may be politicized but over 300 professionals from all over the world cannot be all bought and forced to lie. Hizb and its supporters may choose to ignore the findings, but once a verdict is out, there's no escaping it in the eyes of the word and public opinion. If Hizb truly believes its innocent, then it should do what it can to cooperate and bring the truth out instead of obstructing justice and destroying or hiding witnesses and evidence

The 10th suspect has just been identified AS EXPECTED by millions of truth seekers. Yes, you guessed it, and he is (drum roll): SALEM ZAHRAN. Yeah, STL. You better hurry up before the detente between the "evil empire" and the "evil nation" (if you know who I mean) becomes all hugs and kisses, at which time the only ones left to accuse will be... well... umm... duh... al-Qaeda?
