So, Mr. Jumblat, is there a chance that the majority will take power in Lebanon? I would say there is, because the tide of anti-democratic reaction, like the Gulf states' "initiatives", are letting Lebanese Muslims know that hoping for mercy from a privileged elite is not such a good idea any more. People talking about what Jumblatt did during the war are laughable. What did Hezb Allah and Aoun do during the war? I seem to remember them being involved in the fighting.

I do feel that Jumblat is deeply sorry for supporting Huzbullah in the current government. he's now trying to straighten things out but remians sceptical of what might transpire in syria as the regime continues to stand on its feet unruffled and unpertured. jumblat is a shrewd son of a gun and when he saw that the Mar 14 reached a point where war might reinstigate in lebanon he opted for the least evil and sided with the Huzbuulah. It was like a convenience marriage that will last until the motto is attained. Now that the Syrian regime is weaken to a large extent, he's rightfully realising that things in Lebanon will move in the opposite direction with his friend harriri who would be the highest benefactor from the regime collapse in syria. harrir know and had expressed it openly that he knew the reasons for Jumblat's change of course and he's certainly willing to go back to old days when matters settle in Syria.
