يبحث رئيس الجمهورية ميشال سليمان عن "صيغة تتيح له البقاء في موقعه لتصريف الاعمال" في حال تعذّر انتخاب خلف له، تبعاً لما افادته صحيفة "الاخبار".
وكشفت الصحيفة في عددها الصادر الإثنين أن "سليمان استدعى أحد مستشاريه شادي كرم، لإعداد فقرة صغيرة تتيح له التمديد لنفسه في حال تعذُّر انتخاب خلف له".
وأضافت أنه سيورد طرحه تحت عنوان "تصريف الأعمال".
وأفادت مصادر مطلعة للصحيفة أن سليمان انطلق من "عدم قدرة الحكومة على ملء فراغ الرئيس أولاً، ومن ضرورة الإنصاف بين الطوائف ومعاملة الموقع المسيحي الأول بالأهمية ذاتها التي يتعامل فيها السنّة مع رئاسة الحكومة والشيعة مع رئاسة المجلس النيابي ثانياً".
وتابعت أنه بهذا الطرح "يُصبح شغور الكرسي الرئاسي المسيحي مستحيلاً، شأنه شأن المواقع الأخرى".
وأشارت الى أن كرم قد أنجز كتابة الأسطر الثلاثة، على أن يتولى سليمان تسويقها، نظراً إلى حاجتها لتعديل دستوري وأصوات النواب كي تصبح قانونية.
ولفتت أوساط بكركي عبر "الأخبار" الى أن "سليمان أسرّ بفكرته للبطريرك الماروني الكاردينال بشارة الراعي، الذي اكتفى بالإشارة إلى ضرورة تحقيق إجماع وطني حولها"، على ما تقول أوساط بكركي.
وفي السياق نفسه، كشفت صحيفة "النهار"، الإثنين أن"رئيس مجلس النواب نبيه بري بدأ في اليومين الاخيرين اتصالات ولم يستطع حتى الآن ان يحدد كيف سيتعامل مع الايام العشرة الاخيرة من المهلة الدستورية. وهو ينتظر ما ستنتهي اليه جلسة الخميس، واذا لم ينتخب رئيس قبل 25 ايار الجاري، استنادا الى مصادره، "فان ما بعد هذا التاريخ لن يكون على غرار ما قبله".
وفي شأن متصل، علمت الصحيفة ان الراعي سينصرف هذا الاسبوع الى تكثيف الاتصالات من أجل انتخاب رئيس جديد للجمهورية، فاذا ما تعثر هذا الانتخاب سيركز على ضرورة بقاء الرئيس ميشال سليمان في قصر بعبدا ريثما ينتخب رئيس جديد.
ولم يتمكن مجلس النواب بعد ثلاث جلسات من انتخاب رئيس. في ظل تخوّف من الفراغ، خصوصاً وان رئيس الجمهورية ميشال سليمان الذي تنتهي ولايته في 24 الجاري، يرفض التمديد ويؤكد انه سيكون في 25 ايار في منزله.

I believe for this pass, it will still require the approval from the parliament. If that is the case, then that will be a teaser for all parties, and I mean all parties, on whether or not they refuse the vacuum in presidency...

It is said that behind every cloud there is a silver lining. The technicalities of keeping president Suleiman is power are there in bold ink, so let them attempt to create that vacuum and let Suleiman continue at the helm of this nation. They can take all their time, as long as we have a true gentleman and honest in every way one can look at it, we shall be better off with him than any of the two current contesters, Aoun and Geagea, both of whom are saddled with over-luggage of their own. Let Suleiman stay.

I cannot but disagree with you ya akhi Mystic. In the constitution if La 7awla wala qouwati a complete deadlock is reached, then there is room for the constitution to ask Suleiman to stay. Walaw, would you say the same of Emile Lahoud's 3 year extension when the Syrian occupiers were here? A void at this time bodes badly for the nation, if M8 want to avoid the void then let M8 and M14 come to terms with a candidate that is agreeable by all sides. may I humbly suggest such outstanding patriots such as Demianos Kattar, or Ziad Baroud, or Boutros Harb or anyone that is a professional technocrat who will NOT serve as a rubber stamp for anyone.
