The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon denied on Wednesday media reports that the international force had taken precautionary measures in light of the European Union decision to blacklist Hizbullah as a terrorist organization, said the National News Agency.

UNIFIL Spokeswoman Antoinette Midday told NNA that the force is carrying out its field duties in its usual manner and in “close coordination” with the Lebanese army.

The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon has taken precautionary measures around its posts in the South, reported the National News Agency on Tuesday.

It said that the measures were taken in light of the European Union's decision to blacklist Hizbullah's military wing as a terrorist organization.

Caretaker Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour called on Friday for filing a complaint with the United Nations Security Council over Israel's violations of the border and its kidnapping of Lebanese nationals.

The complaint comes after a 15-member Israeli commando forces crossed on Monday the border of the occupied Shebaa Farms in the South, and abducted Lebanese shepherd Youssef Hussein Rhayyel.

The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon on Wednesday handed over to the army two shepherds that were kidnapped by Israeli forces a day earlier, the state-run National News Agency reported.

Youssef Hussein Rhayyel and Youssef Mohammed Zahra were kidnapped on Tuesday from a region near the southern town of Shebaa, according to the NNA.

Several men intercepted two United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) battalions on Sunday in the southern border town of Yater.

“The Malaysian and Ghanian battalions were intercepted after several peacekeepers were spotted filming in the village,” radio Voice of Lebanon (93.3) reported.

UNIFIL Official Spokesman Andrea Tenenti stressed Thursday that the U.N. Interim Force in Lebanon does not approve of Israel's violations of Lebanon's airspace, noting that UNIFIL will report to the U.N. Security Council on these violations.

In an interview with the National News Agency, Tenenti said the Israeli overflights represent a violation of Lebanese sovereignty and U.N. Security Council Resolution 1701, which ended the 2006 war between Israel and Hizbullah.

An Israeli force has advanced on Friday towards al-Wazzani border region without crossing the technical fence and the Blue Line, the National News Agency reported.

"Fourteen members and three armored vehicles advanced towards the east bank of the river,” the NNA elaborated.

A 12-strong Israeli force on Wednesday kidnapped Lebanese shepherd Ismail Khalil Nabaa who hails from the southern border town of Shebaa, Lebanon's National News Agency reported.

Nabaa was abducted while grazing his flock on the heights of Jabal al-Saddaneh, north of the U.N.-demarcated Blue Line, NNA said, adding that the shepherd was taken to Israel.

The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) on Tuesday noted that it can help Lebanon control its border with Syria should the Lebanese government make such a request.

Commenting on media reports about a possible deployment of UNIFIL peacekeepers on the border with Syria, UNIFIL spokesman Andrea Tenenti said UNIFIL’s deployment and missions were specified by the U.N. Security Council and approved by Lebanon’s government, noting that UNIFIL’s area of operations was defined by U.N. Security Council Resolution 1701 which ended the 2006 war between Israel and Hizbullah.

Lebanese shepherd Youssef Mohamed Zahra was abducted Friday by the Israeli army near the Southern area of Shebaa Farms, while he was grazing his flock in the Shahel region, state-run National News Agency reported.

The farmer was ambushed by Israeli troops who crossed 20 meters into the Lebanese territory.
