Four policemen were killed and several others wounded Monday in separate clashes with suspected jihadists in Tunisia, which has seen a surge in radical Islam since the 2011 uprising.

The interior ministry blamed an al-Qaida-linked group for one attack and said "terrorists" -- the term it uses for jihadists -- were involved in the second.

Romania to Expel Two Tunisians for 'IS Propaganda'

Tunisia Rescues 356 Migrants Off Southeast Coast

Tunisia's navy on Wednesday rescued 356 migrants including a two-month-old baby girl off the country's southeastern coast near Ben Guerdane, the Red Crescent said.

Red Crescent official Ammar Lamloum told AFP that the group of migrants, mainly Africans, had been trying to reach the Italian island of Lampedusa when they were rescued.

Tunisia Court Annuls Confiscation of Ben Ali's assets

A Tunisian court has annulled a 2011 decree to confiscate the assets of ousted president Zine El Abidine Ben Ali and his circle, the government announced Tuesday, vowing to appeal the ruling.

"The decision was issued yesterday (Monday) to annul the decree" confiscating the assets of 114 members and aides of Ben Ali's family and of his wife Leila Trabelsi, the minister of state property and land affairs, Hatem Eleuchi, told Mosaique FM radio.

Dozens of Tunisians held in Libya by a militia forming part of an alliance ruling Tripoli have been freed, Tunisia's foreign ministry announced Saturday.

"All the Tunisians being held in Libya have been freed. The final group was released today," the ministry said in a statement, without giving numbers.

Tunisia Arrests 2nd Morocco Suspect in Bardo Attack

Tunisia has arrested a second Moroccan suspect over a deadly attack in March on the Bardo museum in Tunis, detaining him at the border with Libya, the interior ministry said Thursday.

Noureddine al-Naibi was arrested on Sunday at the Ras Jedir border post on suspicion of indirect involvement in the attack, ministry spokesman Mohamed Ali Aroui told AFP.

The bodies of five Tunisian migrants trying to reach the Italian island of Lampedusa were recovered from the sea Saturday while 49 others were rescued, Tunisia's coast guard said.

Moroccan Held in Italy over Tunis Museum Attack Says Innocent

A young Moroccan man arrested in Italy on Tuesday for allegedly helping in the attack on the Bardo museum in Tunis in March insisted Friday he was innocent and opposed his extradition to Tunisia, his lawyer said.

Abdelmajid Touil, 22, claimed his arrest was "a mistake", Silvia Fiorentini said after an preliminary extradition hearing.
