The Special Tribunal for Lebanon’s indictment of Hizbullah members will be based on evidence unveiled by ISF Capt. Wissam Eid through his monitoring of the telecommunications network, the French daily La Liberation said.

“Members of a mysterious team were using their mobile phones to communicate with each other several weeks before” ex-Premier Rafik Hariri’s assassination, Eid reportedly discovered.

Britain’s Foreign Office spokesperson Barry Marston said Lebanon’s stability is guaranteed by justice achieved in ex-Premier Rafik Hariri’s assassination case.

In an interview published Thursday, Marston said Britain will continue to provide financial and moral support to the international tribunal.

Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun questioned on Tuesday the Special Tribunal for Lebanon's credibility, saying that accusations have been directed against Hizbullah of being behind former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri's assassination after the July 2006 war failed in destroying the party.

He said after the movement's weekly meeting: "We have never seen a country die because of one individual or one political line of thought."

Kuwaiti daily Al-Rai has announced that it will publish Friday "a classified document it obtained," which is allegedly related to Abdul Baset Bani Audeh, a witness in the Hariri case.

According to Al-Rai, the classified document is signed by the international investigation commission into the murder of ex-PM Rafik Hariri.

Lebanon can do without armed clashes similar to those of May 7, 2008 and the recent remarks of former head of General Security, Maj. Gen. Jamil Sayyed, and Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun "are rejected," Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblat said Thursday.

In an interview with LBC TV, Jumblat said that "the presumptions presented" by Hizbullah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah to the Special Tribunal for Lebanon were "very important," noting that "the tribunal's issue can be solved between (Premier Saad)Hariri and Nasrallah, so there's no need to topple it (STL) through street" riots.
