Mansour 'Confident' Imam Sadr Still Alive

Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour on Monday said he was confident that missing Imam Moussa al-Sadr and his two companions were still alive, upon his return from a several-day visit to Libya, where the three were last seen.

Berri Backs Baabda Palace Deal as Wage Hike Fails to See Light

The cabinet session scheduled to be held at the Baabda Palace will not tackle the wage boost dispute as parties involved in the matter failed to reach consensus, according to newspapers published on Monday.

300-million-dollar Litani River Project to be Launched Tuesday

A ceremony will be held at the Grand Serail on Tuesday to launch the 300-million-dollar Litani river project to irrigate agricultural land in southern Lebanon, As Safir daily reported.

The newspaper said that Premier Najib Miqati, Speaker Nabih Berri and MPs from the Development and Liberation bloc will attend the event. Representatives of Arab funds, particularly the Kuwaiti Fund, will also be present.

Ban Visits UNIFIL HQ in the South, Praises Strong Partnership with Lebanese Army

U.N. chief Ban Ki-moon arrived in the southern coastal town of Naqoura aboard a helicopter on Saturday for talks with the leadership of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon.
