Irish rappers Kneecap deny Hezbollah support after terror charge

Irish rappers Kneecap on Thursday denied supporting a proscribed group and vowed to "vehemently defend ourselves" after a member of the band was charged with a terror offence for allegedly displaying a Hezbollah flag at a London concert.

Israeli strikes kill three in south Lebanon

Lebanese authorities said Israeli strikes killed three people on Wednesday as Israel said it targeted Hezbollah operatives in southern Lebanon, the latest attacks despite a ceasefire with the Iran-backed militant group.

An "Israeli enemy drone" struck a car in Ain Baal in the Tyre region, killing one person, Lebanon's health ministry said.

Deputy U.S. Envoy for the Middle East Morgan Ortagus has a plan to get Lebanon out of its economic crisis, the diplomat said at an Economic Forum in Qatar.

"The International Monetary Fund is not the only choice," Ortagus said, adding that she has a big plan for Lebanon and a vision that allows Lebanon to become a country of investments and maybe then it would not even need the IMF loan.

Ortagus to visit Lebanon with list of US conditions for full ceasefire, report says

Deputy U.S. Envoy for the Middle East Morgan Ortagus who is due to visit Lebanon next month will carry with her a list of U.S. conditions for Israel's complete withdrawal from south Lebanon and a halt of its attacks on the country, pro-Hezbollah al-Akhbar newspaper reported.

The daily said Wednesday that it has learned from prominent political sources that the U.S. has informed Lebanese officials that Ortagus will pressure Lebanon to consider joining peace accords with Israel as a pre-condition for a complete implementation of a ceasefire reached in late November.

Aoun and Abbas say era of arms 'outside Lebanese state control' over

President Joseph Aoun and his Palestinian counterpart Mahmoud Abbas said Wednesday that weapons should be under Lebanese state control, meeting in Baabda to discuss disarming Palestinian refugee camps in the country among other issues.

A joint statement released by the Lebanese presidency said the two leaders share the "belief that the era of weapons outside Lebanese state control has ended," adding that both had expressed commitment to the principle that arms should be exclusively "in the hands of the Lebanese state."
