Rockets Fired from Syria Hit Brital, Taybeh Valley

Two rockets fired from Syrian territory hit on Tuesday the eastern region of Bekaa, a security source told Agence France Presse.

"Two rockets landed in the Brital countryside and the nearby Taybeh valley," the source said on condition of anonymity. There were no immediate reports of casualties or damages.

U.N., EU Sound Alarm on Syria Refugee Crisis in Lebanon

The EU's top foreign policy chief and the U.N.'s high commissioner for refugees warned on Tuesday about the needs created by the influx of more than 530,000 Syrian refugees into Lebanon.

Arriving in Beirut, U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees Antonio Guterres "sounded the alarm about the massive support needed for refugees and for the countries and communities hosting them", a statement said.

Mustaqbal Bloc Urges Lebanese to 'Stand by' Suleiman

Al-Mustaqbal bloc on Tuesday called on the Lebanese people to stand by President Michel Suleiman as “the head of the state entrusted with the constitution,” considering also that Hizbullah's chief “crushed the Lebanese people's hopes of calm and stability.”

"We praise Suleiman's stances that were manifested today in delivering a note to U.N. Special Coordinator for Lebanon Derek Plumbly regarding the Syrian attacks on the country,” a released statement said after the bloc's weekly meeting at the Center House.

Aoun Says Hizbullah Intervened in Syria after Gunmen Infiltrated Lebanon

Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun on Tuesday said Hizbullah intervened militarily in Syria after “gunmen” were brought into Lebanon, putting the blame on the March 14 camp and accusing it of creating a “vacuum” in Lebanon.

"We discussed the 'carnival of speeches' that is taking place today about Syria and Hizbullah, as if we have no other problems and as if we forgot the epoch that led us here," Aoun said, referring to the memo submitted by March 14 to President Michel Suleiman.

Arslan Says Accusing Hizbullah of Inciting Sedition Is 'Unjust'

1 Dead, 4 Hurt as Asir Supporters, Resistance Brigades Clash in Abra

Clashes erupted on Tuesday afternoon between supporters of Islamist cleric Sheikh Ahmed al-Asir and members of the Hizbullah-affiliated Resistance Brigades in the Sidon neighborhood of Abra, leaving at least one person dead and four others wounded.

Voice of Lebanon radio (93.3) said the fighting broke out between Asir supporters and “Mahmoud al-Sous' group, which belongs to the Resistance Brigades.”
