Ministerial Source: Miqati’s Commitment to Fund STL is ‘Harmful’

A March 8 ministerial source that rejects the funding of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon has criticized Premier Najib Miqati for promising the international community that Lebanon would pay its share of funds for the STL.

The source unveiled to pan-Arab daily al-Hayat published Sunday that Miqati hasn’t yet proposed any suggestion to fund the court and hasn’t discussed any approach with Hizbullah, which rejects the funding.

Higher Sunni Legal Council: Fear on Christians' Future Causes Sedition

Blast Near Bab Al-Tebbaneh Wounds 3

A woman and her two daughters were wounded Saturday near Al-Nasiri mosque in Tripoli’s Bab Al-Tebbaneh neighborhood due to a hand grenade explosion, the National News agency reported.

The Agency added that the security forces arrived at the scene and started investigating, adding that the wounded were taken to Al-Khairi hospital in Tripoli for medical treatment.

Berri from Iran: Resistance Deterring Israel from Exploiting Arab Situation to Harm Lebanon

Speaker Nabih Berri noted on Saturday that Lebanon remains Israel’s main enemy because it is its major competitor in the region, adding that the Jewish state is seeking to fragment Lebanon.
