Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun slammed on Tuesday Prime Minister Najib Miqati’s statements, saying that they are a concession of Lebanon’s sovereignty.

The daughter of a Syrian opposition member who was allegedly kidnapped in the eastern Lebanese region of Aley pleaded with Syria’s allies in Lebanon to mediate for the release of her father.

Shebli al-Aysami, 86, a co-founder of Syria's ruling Baath party, who fled his native country in 1966 over political differences, was last seen in May in Aley.

Beirut Airport Police Thwart Attempt to Smuggle 9 Kg of Drugs to UAE

Beirut airport police arrested a 25-year-old drug smuggler after seizing 9 kilograms of narcotic pills from his bag, the National News Agency reported on Monday.

NNA said that the police searched his bag when suspicion fell on the man. They found the drugs packed in nylon bags in a false bottom.
