Israel is preparing arrangements to end the war on Lebanon’s front withing two weeks, Israel’s Channel 12 has reported.

Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati on Monday called on the “silent” international community to address “the Israeli enemy’s continued aggression against Lebanon and its crimes of killing and destruction.”

Mikati voiced his remarks in meetings with the ambassadors of the U.N. Security Council’s permanent members -- the U.S., the UK, France, Russia and China. He also met with the EU’s ambassador to Lebanon.

Lebanese farmer Abu Taleb briefly returned to his orchard last month to salvage an avocado harvest but ran away empty handed as soon as Israeli air raids began.

Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, who has been negotiating on behalf of Hezbollah, has renewed his call for a ceasefire in the country amid continued Israeli attacks.

Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati has said in an interview with The Washington Post that his “priority” is the “full implementation” of Resolution 1701, which calls for disarmament of Hezbollah in the south.

The prime minister voiced strong support for each key provision of a deal he said U.S. mediator Amos Hochstein has proposed, including Lebanese Army deployment in South Lebanon, and a monitoring mechanism to ensure there’s a quick international response if the Lebanese Army can’t stop Hezbollah.

Iran's president said a potential ceasefire between its allies and Israel "could affect the intensity" of Tehran's response to Israel's recent strikes on Iranian military sites.

Hezbollah said on Sunday it launched a barrage of missiles at an Israeli military base in the northern coastal city of Haifa.

The Iran-backed group said in a statement that it had targeted "for the first time the technical base of Haifa, affiliated with the Israeli air force" with a barrage of missiles, after it earlier claimed a drone attack on another military base south of the city.

An air strike killed at least three people in the Sidon suburb of Haret Saida on Sunday, the health ministry said, as more bombs hit the country's east.

"The Israeli enemy's raid on Haret Saida resulted in an initial death toll of three people killed and nine others injured," the ministry said, referring to a densely populated area near Sidon.

Hezbollah said it fired rockets at the northern Israeli city of Safad on Monday, the latest attack in more than a month of war.

Hezbollah fighters launched a "big rocket salvo" at the city, the group said in a statement.

The Israeli military said on Monday it had killed a top Hezbollah commander it accused of overseeing rocket and anti-tank missile attacks against Israeli forces in southern Lebanon.
