A suspicious suitcase that was found Tuesday in the Cite Sportive area in Beirut turned out to contain paper used in counterfeiting currency notes, state-run National News Agency reported.
“Security forces closed the Cite Sportive-Kuwaiti Embassy road after they suspected that a suitcase placed on the side of the road leading to the Kuwaiti embassy might contain a bomb,” NNA said.

Al-Mustaqbal parliamentary bloc on Tuesday accused Hizbullah leader Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah of toppling the policy of disassociation and denying the articles of the Baabda Declaration, warning against attempts to cause a strife between the army and the people of the Bekaa town of Arsal.
“Nasrallah overthrew the fragile stability in the country because of his involvement in the fighting in Syria, he also buried the policy of disassociation and denied the articles of the Baabda Declaration which Hizbullah has agreed to abide by, in addition to violating the Resolution 1701,” al-Mustaqbal MPs said in a released statement after the bloc's weekly meeting at the Center House.

Free Syrian Army chief of staff Salim Idriss warned on Tuesday that if fighters from Hizbullah do not stop their military intervention in Syria, where they are backing government troops, "we will take all measures to hunt" them, "even in hell."
"If the attacks of Hizbullah against Syrian territory do not stop within 24 hours, we will take all measures to hunt Hizbullah, even in hell," he told Al-Arabiya news channel, addressing President Michel Suleiman, Arab League chief Nabil al-Arabi and U.N. chief Ban Ki-Moon.

The U.N.'s top rights body will on Wednesday debate a draft resolution condemning the Syrian regime's use of foreign fighters in the besieged town of Qusayr.
A draft resolution presented on Tuesday "condemns the intervention of foreign combatants fighting on behalf of the Syrian regime in al-Qusayr," an implicit reference to the involvement of fighters from Hizbullah in the fierce battle for the strategic town.

Maronite Patriarch Beshara al-Rahi reiterated on Tuesday from the airport that the Parliament should approve a new electoral law ahead of any technical term extension.
“The stance that was taken by the Maronite bishops council and our agreement with officials states that the parliament should approve a new electoral law ahead of approving any technical extension for the legislature's mandate,” al-Rahi told reporters ahead of leaving to Poland on a four-day pastoral visit.
