Guatemalans voted Sunday in a presidential runoff election between a comedian with no political experience and a former first lady, amid outrage over a corruption scandal that felled the ex-president.

Jimmy Morales, a comic actor famous for playing a country bumpkin who nearly becomes president, headed into the vote with a huge lead -- 68 percent to 32 percent for social democrat Sandra Torres, according to the final opinion poll.

After signing off as host of "The Daily Show," comedian Jon Stewart has revealed a new vocation -- starting a sanctuary for abused farm animals.

Stewart, who ended his influential show on the Comedy Central network in August, was honored with his wife Tracey at a gala Saturday night of Farm Sanctuary, which provides shelter to animals rescued from factory farms.

Jolie's 'Unbroken' Finally Set for Japan Release after Race Row

Angelina Jolie's wartime-based movie "Unbroken" will finally be shown in Japan over a year after its release despite attempts from nationalists who blasted it as racist to prevent it being screened, a distributor said Thursday.

The film, directed by Jolie, which depicts an American prisoner of war being tortured by a sadistic Japanese guard, is set to hit screens in February, beginning in Tokyo before being shown in other locations nationwide.

New 'Thor' and 'Alien' Movies to be Shot in Australia

Two big budget blockbusters, including the next Marvel superhero "Thor" installment and Ridley Scott's new "Alien" film, will be shot in Australia from next year, the government said Thursday.

Foreign Minister Julie Bishop said the deal to film Marvel Studios' "Ragnarok", starring Australian actor Chris Hemsworth, and Scott's production for Twentieth Century Fox would generate 3,000 jobs and Aus$300 million ($216 million) for the economy.
