Poll: Trust in U.S. Media Edges Up from Lows

Americans' trust in the news media has come up from an all-time low, but many still see the media as "too liberal."

A Gallup survey found 44 percent of those polled had a great deal or fair amount of trust and confidence in the mass media, up from 40 percent in 2012, the lowest reading since Gallup regularly began tracking the question in 1997.

Canals Run Dry at Venetian in Vegas for 1st Time

It's not often you can use the word "dry" to describe a Las Vegas landmark, but tourists hoping to cruise along the Venetian hotel-casino's indoor canals are finding them tapped out.

The waterways were emptied for repainting earlier this month for the first time since the casino opened in 1999. When they reopen in mid-October, the water will once again appear to sparkle below the hotel's trompe-l'oeil sky.

Singer-songwriter Sting's new musical "The Last Ship" will sail onto a Broadway stage after a stop in Chicago.

Defense Rests Case in Trial over Jackson's Death

Lawyers for concert promoter AEG Live LLC rested their defense Wednesday with testimony from a longtime friend and doctor of Michael Jackson in the negligence case filed by Jackson's mother over his death.

The trial is in its 21st week and jurors are expected to begin deliberations next week.
