Thousands of people turned out for Australia's first "SlutWalk" on Saturday, organizers said, protesting for women to be able to wear whatever they like without fear of being sexually assaulted.

‘SlutWalk’ began in Canada in April after a Toronto police official said that "women should avoid dressing like sluts in order not to be victimized".

A jumping cockroach, a glow-in-the-dark fungus, a rust-eating bacterium and a leech named "T-rex" were among the top 10 new species discovered in the world last year, US scientists said Monday.

The creatures were uncovered in Brazil, Madagascar, South Africa, Peru, the Philippines, West Africa, the US state of Oregon, the Mascarene Islands in the Indian Ocean, the Gulf of Mexico and the North Atlantic Ocean.

Saudi Arabia has decided to contribute 10 million dollars to the budget of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon, western diplomatic sources said.

The sources told the Central News Agency and several other agencies that Riyadh informed tribunal officials about its decision.

Canada is granting an additional 1 million dollars to the Special Tribunal for Lebanon probing the 2005 assassination of former Lebanese premier Rafik Hariri, announced Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister Lawrence Cannon, reported the daily al-Mustaqbal on Saturday.

The total of Canadian contributions to the STL reached 3.7 million dollars, the daily remarked.

Frank Buckles, who lied about his age to get into uniform during World War I and lived to be the last surviving U.S. veteran of that war, has died. He was 110.

Buckles, who also survived being a civilian POW in the Philippines in World War II, died peacefully of natural causes early Sunday at his home in Charles Town, biographer and family spokesman David DeJonge said in a statement. Buckles turned 110 on Feb. 1 and had been advocating for a national memorial honoring veterans of World War I in Washington, D.C.

Seven men, including two Lebanese citizens, were charged with selling drugs and weapons in an effort to help the Taliban fight U.S. troops overseas.

Posing as representatives of the Taliban, cooperating witnesses for the Drug Enforcement Administration approached the men in Ghana last June, asking to set up a drug relationship, prosecutors said. First, the cooperators asked if they could buy large amounts of cocaine, according to court documents. Then, they asked if the men could set up safe places in West Africa to store heroin on its way from Afghanistan to the United States, Canada and Europe.

Some 500 people demonstrated Saturday in the streets of Montreal, calling for the resignation of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, who has resisted pressure to quit despite an unprecedented uprising.

Joining Egyptians on the peaceful march to the Egyptian consulate were groups of Tunisians and Algerians, as well as civic leaders from Quebec and Amnesty International activists.
