Hizbullah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah is expected to tackle on Friday the latest developments in Lebanon and the region.

He will deliver his speech via video link to mark “Liberation Day” at a rally that will be held in the southern town of Bint Jbeil.

The party’s sources told As Safir newspaper that Hizbullah is keen to ensure the continuation of the current cabinet amid attempts by the March 14-led opposition to topple it under various pretexts.

The sources noted that the party supports the resumption of the national dialogue after the recent security incidents in several areas across Lebanon.

The sources warned of the repercussions of the Syrian crisis on Lebanon, calling on the Lebanese leaders to be responsible at this critical stage.

Lebanon is sharply divided between the March 14-led opposition, backed by Washington and hostile to the Syrian regime, and the camp of the March 8 forces, which dominates the government and is supported by Damascus and Tehran, over the yearlong crisis in the neighboring country Syria.

According to al-Liwaa newspaper, Nasrallah will also tackle during his speech the resistance’s readiness to confront any Israeli threats.

Hizbullah’s chief will also address the abduction of around 12 Lebanese in the province of Aleppo in Syria as they headed to Lebanon on Tuesday from a pilgrimage in Iran.

There are no confirmed reports on the side that abducted them.

I call for eliminating March from the Lebanese calendar. Maybe this will help move the country forward. The alternative is for the March 8 and 14 to cut the difference and meet in the Middle say March 11. Waddya say?
