Gemayel: Hizbullah is Confronting the STL and Forgetting Israel
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةPhalange Party leader Amin Gemayel addressed March 14 supporters gathered at Martyrs Square on Sunday stressing that Hizbullah forgot its battle with Israel and began confronting the Special Tribunal for Lebanon.
“All that Hizbullah cares about now is the STL. It forgot Israel. It forgot about Kfarshouba and the Shebaa Farms,” Gemayel said.
The former president reiterated to the crowds gathered at the square “we are not here to accuse innocent people; we call for the truth to be revealed through the STL.”
Gemayel stressed that freedom was not achieved in 2005 until the Syrian army withdrew from Lebanon. “Lebanese unity and stability cannot be achieved unless illegitimate arms are removed.”
“We are addressing this issue to save Lebanon and build the state,” the Phalange leader said.
He added that Hizbullah wants to transform Lebanon from a state that abides by the law into a state that confronts all international resolutions. “Lebanon is a country that believes in its diplomacy, relations and friendships.”
“We will not allow anyone to destroy Lebanon and agreement is possible and it is important for a better, stronger Lebanon,” Gemayel said.
