إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةA blast ripped through central Damascus near a hotel and a police station on Monday, injuring at least four people and damaging shops, official Syrian television al-Ikhbariya and witnesses said.
"A bomb exploded loudly near the Hotel Kinda" in busy Marja neighborhood in the center of the capital, the television said.
"Four people were slightly hurt and shops damaged," it added.
Witnesses said the explosion occurred near a police station in Marja and that the area had been cordoned off by security forces. Ambulances were seen at the site of the blast.
Bombings have hit Syria's major cities in recent months, provoking mounting concern that al-Qaida has taken advantage of the uprising against President Bashar Assad.
According to U.N. estimates, more than 9,000 people have died in the regime's crackdown on the uprising that began in March last year, inspired by Arab Spring protests that toppled long-time dictators in Tunisia and Egypt.
Is Kofi Annan in town? Oh wait the Istanbul meeting was yesterday. This is Bashar yet again timing an explosion to try and convince people of "armed gangs".
You are done Bashar.......get out.
We in Lebanon lived like this for more than 15 years owing to regime of Syria. Now the regime is applying similar tactics in Syria to instigate civil war but will not succeed because the demographic arena in Syria is simply different. In Syria, the Sunnis are the majority and will prevail and live in harmony with all the rest of the Syrian people. Lebanon on the other hand will succeed in dusting the Syrian regime which will fall eventually from its shoulder and will have an everlasting peace living in harmonous state with their fellow syrians.
for only 30 years? what about all the mysterious explosions after they "left" lebanon?
you reap what you sow - the Assad regime (father and son) have been exporting terror for the last 40 years to all thier neighbours - now the hen has come home to roost!
