The Lebanese Army's mobile application was on Wednesday announced one of the winners at an awards ceremony at the Dubai Government Summit 2015.

“LAF Shield” was the winner in the “Arab level-Safety & Security sector.”

A total of 87 countries participated in this year’s summit which ran from February 9 to 11.

United Nations chief Ban Ki-moon and Jordan's Queen Rania of Jordan were among more than 100 international speakers at this year’s event.

The Lebanese Army launched its application in 2013 to allow citizens to report security threats and benefit from digital services.

The app, which is available for the Android and iOS operating systems, allows people to take photographs, record videos, or send messages to report any suspicious activity and security incidents.

It also helps users participate in the pursuit of outlaws, or report information about kidnapped individuals.

Users can receive army news and watch videos and photos.

The app also offers an interactive map pointing to dangerous locations.

Emergency numbers, such as those of the Civil Defense, Red Cross, firefighting departments, and Internal Security Forces, among others, are available on the app.

G.K.

Incredible such sectarian comments are allowed and even promoted on this website. Fortunately for us, right-wing LF scum are IRRELEVANT and have, literally, ZERO SIGNIFICANCE. Keep up your internet fight, you're a disgrace to the Christians and to Lebanon.

Indeed, they're absolutely pathetic. On the bright side, their lowliness and sectarianism is now so obvious that everyone can see it.
