Progressive Socialist Party leader Walid Jumblat has unveiled that he met with Syrian President Bashar Assad twice in the past few days advising him to resort to a political solution to his country’s crisis.

Jumblat told al-Haqiqa talk show on Egypt’s Dream One TV aired Monday that he advised Assad to resolve the crisis in all ways except for “blood” because a bloody crackdown on protestors would lead to a regime collapse.

The PSP chief told his interviewer that he reminded Assad of the fate of the Tunisian, Egyptian and Libyan presidents.

“Assad accepted my remarks but unfortunately the security solution is still prevailing in Syria,” he said.

Asked why he continues to change his policies, Jumblat said: “All politicians change their stances in accordance with the political circumstances.”

“What would you do if a gun was pointed at your head?” the Druze leader asked his interviewer, hinting that his life was at risk.

Stop using this excuse "a gun pointed at my head".....! A man acts according to his principles and you don't have any principles! The whole nation has guns and rockets pointed at their heads and not just you. Real men choose to face up to reality and make decisions based on their beliefs and convictions. However, you are a low life scum criminal who only thinks about his neck.

rare are those who act according to their principles these days :)
Cadinal Sfeir is the rock we believe in.

Walid "jump-a-lot" Jumblatt.
As much headache as he gives the rest of the Lebanese, we can only admire his chameleon qualities that has allowed him to stay relevant and hold more power than the size of his sect quantifies.

It is important not to miss the point about this guy. He is nobody's true ally but his own. He is constantly reshuffling his stances to do what he believes in his mind will preserve his precious mountain and the Druze sect. Right, wrong or indifferent, I cannot trust a man who's idea of patriotism has to do with one group of people instead of the whole country. Does he not realize that the Druze are Lebanese too? Or is it Druze first, Lebanese last?

sure druze first.

you guys are wandering like you don't know what's all about.

another proof that you are not lebanese

Once again, he points out that the Huzb Allah gun is pointed to his head which I don't doubt. And his remarks about bloody crackdowns leading to the regime falling will come true sooner or later. Not one of the Arab dictators have succeeded in putting down the revolutions by cracking down on it.
