Good that they were caught. Terrorism should not be tolerated anywhere in Lebanon. Not a big fan of the ISF because they are a partisan arm, but if they cracked this case then congrats.
Note for those who always whine that they are not given telecom data: "It also studied telecommunications data and heard the testimonies of informants that led to the arrests"
Apparently this time they made a legal request and got the telecom data they needed.
some people are just haters, they'll hate for the sake of it, but since they have no arguments, the red thumbs are their only weapons :)
don't fret or sweat, when you wake up tomorrow there will be +25 up. The night is still young:)
We have the right to criticize the ISF or Army, they're here to serve the people, not the politicians. They've been serving us well lately, although we always expect more. They should go in the jabal and the Bab and apply the laws of Lebanon. There's no need for green light of M8/14 because this is a bad signal. As long as the army/ISF isn't declaring a war on a foreign nation, they can enforce the current laws within Lebanon.
asking for all the telecom exchanges across all Lebanon over 2 months is illegal indeed. it was said so by the Lebanese judiciary and confirmed by a multitude of foreign experts.
anonyme of course i condemn ANY attacks on lebanese (or non-lebanese for that matter) innocents and civilians, and i always did contrarily to some people here who cry when it's against their side and cheer when its on the other (or those who claim they condemn assassination but call for assassination of political opponents like benzo has been doing for a while for instance).
as for criticizing the ISF i think it's a right as citizen, or even a duty. when ashraf rifi refers to M14 as "our political side" i am in right of calling him a partisan, at the very least. don't you think?
Rouh l3ab mowaten _ - _
There's no such thing as illegal requests. Nicolas sehnaoui is obstructing justice And will be held accountable one day. His head will roll!
Allahū Akbar!
yeyeah benzo, thanks for confirming you call for murder and assassinations. that disqualifies you from being a judge of what is evil and what is good. you're just a partisan hater.
"According to local newspapers published on Wednesday, French authorities pointed out that such a decision would violate the constitution and the privacy of the citizens."
ouch ouch ouch... i thought they LUUUUUUVED the constitution? oh but only when it serves israeli interests by blocking oil exploration.
Coco, je ne vis pas dans le passé, ouvrir ton lien ne m'intéresse pas.
Ceci dit, je suppose que tu me cite, tu m'en verras flatté. lol
Ashraf Rifi is retired, so stop using feeble excuses to justify your sectarian dark soul and attack the ISF. Is Abbas Ibrahim of the General Security not from your camp? Not Partisan? The difference between a true citizen and a sectarian mowaten is they do not assess the performance of their institutions based on their sectarian bias. That is something you don't do very well mowaten. A few days ago, you refused to believe it was the Syrian regime behind the Tripoli blasts. Now faced with irrefutable facts, you say it is good but with your sectarian twist. Is there any post or agency headed by a Sunni that you think is doing a good job? Obviously not.... despite all your claims to the contrary. When people criticize the army, you call them traitors but you can criticize the ISF because you are a patriot HA operative. Sick
Israeli interests. Man, stop your demented discourse.... It's nonesense. You sound like Micho.
No movaten, haven't you ever heard « vox populi, vox dei »?
I'm NOT affiliated to any political faction, I doubt you can say the same.
oh ashraf rifi retired and suddenly all the chain of command was purified? stop taking people for idiots, we know very well how the ISF works.
i'm not "affiliated" to any faction either, but contrarily to you, i am not ashamed of saying who i support.
you hide under a fake guise of "neutrality" to keep spewing your hate, but you're not fooling anyone.
and anonyme, kudos to you as well, you're a rare kind of honest person here. much respect for your comment here:

So, if you're not affiliated, you're simply one of their employees? A mouthpiece... ? Tell us what you do for a living.
anonyme: when they do good work i'm not the last to congratulate them. but that the head of an institution publicly declares himself of one political camp is unacceptable. his mutiny against Ziad Baroud for instance showed that the institution is not bigger than him, he overtly disobeyed his minister's orders and used the ISF as his own (or his political side's) property...
I know anonym, they'll always lie about our institutions in order to weaken them so they can legitimize their weapons of terror. Obviously, most Lebanese are against it.
Momo, your article says "according to local newspapers.... French authorities pointed out that such a decision would violate the constitution and the privacy of the citizens".
"According to local newspapers" hahahahaha, good one.
Which constitution????? The French one? What a joke you are.
What part of the Lebanese Constitution would be violated? Don't bother looking, as there is nothing in the Lebanese constitution that prevents releasing phone call data.
Didn't you learn from Snowden that all the Western governments are monitoring ALL communications, meaning all phone call data and all emails. Even after Snowden, it was found not to be unconstitutional, and it is still going on.
people-power:
"A security source told An Nahar newspaper that obtaining the telecom data wouldn’t be useful if the Lebanese authorities didn’t consult the legal French judicial references concerning the legality of the matter in light of the developments."
They apparently consulted the French on the constitutionality of the matter because... the French wrote/revised/corrected our constitution...
momo's right
Seriously, are you 8 years old? That is your argument?
1. An anonymous source says the telecom data "wouldn't be useful" hahaha, very credible, I wonder what side he represented?
2. They consulted "the French" on the constitutionality of the matter? This is even funnier. Who is "the French"? Did this go to the French Cours de Cassation? "The French" must mean your cousin Ali who lives in a Paris slum.
3. You say "apparently" they consulted the French..... only in the minds of the guilty party. They was no formal inquiry or deference to French authorities. France has ZERO jurisdiction on this matter.
4. Rather than making an idiot of yourself, why not try to cite a specific article from the constitution that prevents the release of phone data?
5. If you can't cite a specific article from the LEBANESE constitution, then just STFU
The partisan arm you speak of farsi mowaten is the one that uncovered over 20 Israeli spy networks:)) You have to show your ugly sectarian face even when you unwillingly have to acknowledge good work. Amazing....
and are you saying that if they are pro-M14 they would be pro-israeli?
i think you just confessed what every body knows but M14ers wont admit. congrats dawn :)
A member and supporter of HA, an internationally classified Terror organization, says "terrorism should not be tolerated".... Funny indeed! Take that Sacred Lebanese flag off and put your terror HA flag on, at least you will be true to your low self.
.... and start voting yourself up with your 20 aliases along with flamethrower and that villager from the South. It does not make your credible.
Hey Southerner: Only yesterday you were discrediting this event simply because Al Mustaqbal daily reported it. Here is your quote: "" reported al-Mustaqbal daily": what is that!? a terror fiction stories or cannibals daily life reports!?"
Have you changed your opinion now? Is it less fictitious to you today?
LOL.... to these sectarian haters if Mustaqbal daily reported " Eid Al Adha is tomorrow", they will say " Mustaqbal daily reported..... lol". It has to be reported by Al Manar irrespective if the event is acknowledged to be a fact as is the case in the Tripoli bombings.
Yiiiii
Is it tomorrow? I have to prepare myself for the singing!
Boukra'l eid, min 3ayed, nidbah ba2rit el sayed.
Iza ma fi ba2ra, nidbah........ (Pick whatever you want...)
They're victims of their own employers. Obviously, the terrorists and their associates aren't going to consult with the mouthpieces before going ahead and blowing up civilians in tripoli or Beirut.
I think the worst being them defending them unconditionally even if they're wrong. That's we call stupidity.
For those who don't read much besides the title (e.g. most commentators above), party leader Eid has challenged the authorities to prove them guilty with the consequence of dissolving the party. He said it himself! IF diab is guilty, being charged isn't the same thing as being sentenced with proof and evidence, a trial lawyer etc.
No terrorists in jabal mohsen, ONLY LIONS!
I love it when we catch criminals with irrefutable proof like cameras or recordings. This is happening more and more, and each time it is leading to Assadists!
These folks are so stupid that they dont even design their crime with camera in mind. First they protest innocence, and blame Israel and m14 and whatnot. They act outraged, and call us zionists because we doubted their patriotism and accused them.
After that comes the sweet spot (that we didn't get 10 yrs ago) : they realize that proof against them is IRREFUTABLE and cannot be covered by lies.
I love it!!... Justice is served.
To do a synthesis of security crimes, It is not so much M8 who is the cause of security troubles, or even Hezbollah. The real cause of trouble are the Assadists, represented by all those prosyrian parties that proliferate in our territory. HA's crime is that he is covering them.
when did m8 ever ask for the released of samaha? (mamlouk not being arrested he cant be released. duh)
you just make up lies as you speak, it's a constant stream of BS coming out of you.
