No major breakthroughs in the government formation have been reported in the past few hours, while concerned officials have maintained their optimism over the matter, reported al-Liwa on Monday.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister-designate Najib Miqati held talks on Sunday with Speaker Nabih Berri’s advisor MP Ali Hasan Khalil on the formation process.
The newspaper reported that the developments have taken on a positive course, with a source close to Miqati saying that the circumstances surrounding the process “are more positive than before, however these matters should be judged by their outcome.”
On the other hand, sources from the Baabda palace stated that no new developments have been made in the Cabinet formation, “and the latest political positive positions have not been translated into positive results.”
