Speaker Nabih Berri headed on Wednesday a meeting for the Parliament Bureau Committee, after which the schedule for next week’s June 8 parliamentary session was distributed.
Official sources from the meeting stated that the schedule includes draft laws and proposed projects to be addressed by the MPs.
MPs Marwan Hamadeh, Ahmed Fatfat, Antoine Zahra, and Serge Toursarkissian stated that an agreement was not reached over the schedule.
Hamadeh added that an agreement was not even reached over holding a parliamentary session next week.
“The majority of committee members did not support holding a session, while Berri was insistent on it,” he stated.
“There are conflicting demands over how to find the appropriate constitutional solution for this problem in order to avoid adding a new problem to the several disputes on the internal Lebanese scene,” the MP said.
This issue can be resolved once a new government is formed, Hamadeh stressed.
