March 14 Criticizes Nasrallah's Speech, Says “He is in Crisis”
The March 14 alliance lashed out on Tuesday at Hizbullah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, pointing out that the high tension level in his speech indicates the crisis his party is going through over the developments in Syria and the opposition’s rejection to attend the all-party talks.
“He divided the Lebanese into two categories: conspirators and patriots,” sources close to the March 14 coalition told al-Joumhouria newspaper.
Nasrallah said during a speech on Monday on the occasion of the Martyr day “some parties are complicit with foreign elements” and aim at igniting the country.
The sources said Nasrallah reiterated that he is part of a regional system, which contradicts with the interests of the Lebanese and their priorities.
Nasrallah accused the opposition of “hoping that Israel would attack Lebanon” after Hizbullah's Iranian-made drone penetrated Israeli airspace on October 6 “but it was let down.”
“Hizbullah is fighting a war on behalf of Iran and not Lebanon,” the sources stated.
In comments published in An Nahar newspaper, March 14 sources said that Nasrallah changed the equation of the army-people-resistance to “resistance, army and the people.”
Nasrallah rejected the formation of a neutral or technocrat cabinet and called on the March 14 camp to engage in dialogue “if it wants a unity government.”
The March 14 forces have called for the departure of Prime Minister Najib Miqati's government in the wake of the assassination of Intelligence Bureau chief Maj. Gen. Wissam al-Hasan on October 19.
