Berri Suggests Way Out of Government Crisis
Speaker Nabih Berri confirmed on Friday that he suggested a way out of the difficulties that are facing the new government formation, but refused to give its details.
“I suggested a solution to solve the complications facing the cabinet lineup,” Berri remarked to As-Safir newspaper.
He stressed that the government lineup was a local issue, rejecting reports about an alleged Syrian meddling in the process.
In his remarks to the daily, Berri confirmed that the “Miqati lineup” is heading to a “safe shore” and will eventually see the light.
Meanwhile, the premier-designate’s circles described Najib Miqati’s efforts to form a new government as “positive,” denying that he intends to give up his task.
