Fletcher Meets Aoun, Says Int’l Community Working on Keeping Lebanon Away from Syrian Crisis
British Ambassador to Lebanon Tom Fletcher stressed on Wednesday the importance of preventing the Syrian crisis from spreading to Lebanon.
He said that the international community is facing this challenge and it is working on keeping the country away from the unrest.
He made his remarks after holding talks with Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun.
The meeting focused on local, regional, and international developments, said the ambassador.
Fletcher praised the resumption of the national dialogue in Lebanon on June 11, hoping that the all-party talks will continue.
The dialogue was resumed after a 19-month absence and another session will be held on June 25.
