President Michel Suleiman held talks on Friday with Prime Minister Najib Miqati at the Baabda Palace, the National News Agency reported.
Miqati discussed with Suleiman the results of his recent visit to Turkey.
According to LBC, the premier informed the President that the negotiation regarding the 11 abducted Lebanese pilgrims in the Syrian province of Aleppo went back to the starting point.
Miqati revealed that Turkey withdrew from the negotiations and another undisclosed side began negotiation with the abductors.
The whereabouts of the pilgrims remains unknown, however, a rebel group calling itself "Syrian Revolutionaries - Aleppo Countryside" claimed on Thursday that they are in its custody and that they are in good health.
A statement carrying the group’s signature and sent to Qatar-based satellite news channel Al-Jazeera said negotiations to release the abductees “would only be possible after (Hizbullah chief Sayyed Hassan) Nasrallah apologizes for his latest speech.”
Miqati returned on Friday from a two-day visit to Turkey where he held talks with his counterpart Recep Tayyib Erdogan, Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu and U.N. Chief Ban Ki-moon.
