Aoun Files Lawsuit against Geagea for Hinting at his Involvement in Assassinations
Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun filed a lawsuit against Lebanese Forces leader MP Samir Geagea over his recent statements on the political assassinations in Lebanon since 2005.
According to a statement issued by the FPM press office, Aoun also filed a suit against the Central News Agency, Lebanese Forces’ website and al-Mustaqbal newspaper for misleading the judicial investigation and not providing it with the valuable information and for inciting a sectarian strife.
Al-Akhbar newspaper reported on Saturday that Aoun will file the lawsuit against Geagea for holding him a “moral responsibility” for all assassination attempts since 2005.
Geagea told the Central News Agency on Wednesday that “Aoun holds a moral responsibility for all assassination attempts (and assassinations) because of his stances.”
“My biggest hope is that it isn’t more than this” moral responsibility, Geagea said.
