The Israeli army warned Friday the residents of Dahieh to evacuate, as it struck several regions in Beirut and the country's south and east.
In Beirut, a strike targeted an apartment in Burj Hammoud's Nabaa, and another strike targeted a car in Jnah, a coastal neighborhood in southwestern Beirut, killing one person.
The strike on the Nabaa neighborhood, left the building engulfed in flames, local media reported. Nabaa, on Beirut’s northern outskirts within the densely populated Burj Hammoud district, is home to a sizable Armenian community.
It was the first time such an area has been struck in this conflict or during the 2024 war.
Following the strikes, the Israeli army said it had targeted a Hezbollah member in Beirut. Both neighborhoods are far from the southern suburbs of Beirut, which the Israeli military has declared unsafe and issued evacuation notices for.
In the county's south and east, Israeli strikes hit Shebaa, Harees, al-Majadel, Froun, Khiam, Dweir, a bridge in Tayr Felsay, Qlayleh, Siddiqine, Sheitiyyeh, Ebba, Hermel, Bar Elias, and other regions.
The strike on an apartment in the eastern village of Bar Elias wounded Youssef Dahouk, a local official with al-Jamaa al-Islamiya and two others. Dahouk’s two sons were killed in the strike. At least two other people were killed in the south.
The Israeli military’s Arabic spokesman posted on X that a bridge destroyed in the village of Zrariyeh (Tayr Felsay) was used by Hezbollah fighters to move between the areas south and north of the river.
The military added that Hezbollah forces near the bridge fired rockets into Israel during the current Israel-Hezbollah war.
In the eastern suburbs of Sidon, an Israeli strike targeted an apartment in a residential building in al-Fawwar, killing eight people and wounding nine.
Overnight strikes on Ain Ebel and Barish had killed 6 people, three of them in Ain Ebel, while a strike on Erkay in the Sidon district on Tursday night killed nine people, including 5 children, and wounded 7.
On Thursday, strikes hit a building in Bashoura, adjacent to Beirut's commercial center, and a Beirut branch of the Hezbollah-linked financial firm Al Qard Al Hassan, in the downtown neighborhood of Zoukak El-Blat.
Other Israeli strikes hit Beirut's southern suburbs and the country's south and east.
The Israeli army meanwhile tried to enter Lebanese territories from Taybeh, Shebaa, and the outskirts of Kfarshouba, while Hezbollah said it attacked with salvos of missiles Israeli troops near Markaba, al-Khiam, Alma al-Shaab, Maroun al-Rass and north of Kfar Yuval in the Galilee Panhandle.
The group also said it targeted troops in the Hamames hill, Khillat al-Assafir and Kfar Gil'adi.
