Israel shells south Lebanon as its drones overfly capital and suburbs
Israeli artillery shelling on Thursday targeted the al-Roumiyeh area between the southern towns of Beit Leef and Yater, the National News Agency said.
Earlier, an Israeli Merkava tank fired two shells at a house in Beit Leef.
Israeli forces were also “searching homes” in Beit Leef according to NNA.
Israeli drones meanwhile resumed their overflights at low altitudes in the skies over Beirut and its suburbs.
Speaker Nabih Berri meanwhile was meeting in Ain el-Tineh with U.S. general Jasper Jeffers, the co-chair of the ceasefire monitoring committee, in the presence of U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon Lisa Johnson.
MTV reported that the meeting was "good" and that Jeffers "reassured the Lebanese side."
