Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday hit out at the United Nations after the latest deadly Israeli strikes in the southern Gaza city of Rafah.
"The U.N. cannot even protect its own staff. What are you waiting for to act? The spirit of the United Nations is dead in Gaza," Erdogan told lawmakers from his AKP party.
Erdogan also called on the "Islamic world" to take action over Gaza.
"I have some words to say to the Islamic world: what are you waiting for to take a common decision?" Erdogan said, adding that "Israel is not just a threat to Gaza but to all of humanity."
On Monday, Erdogan said that his country would do "everything possible" to hold "barbaric" Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to account over deadly strikes in Rafah.
"We will do everything possible to hold these barbarians and murderers accountable who have nothing to do with humanity," Erdogan said, after Israeli strikes on a camp for displaced Palestinians in Rafah killed 40 people.
