A teenage boy died and his parents and four siblings were hospitalized for smoke inhalation after a fire swept through their house in the southern town of Dhour al-Ghaziyeh, the National News Agency said Thursday.
Fourteen-year-old Ahmed Ibrahim al-Hajj passed away while his parents Ibrahim and Nuha, his brothers Ali and Wehbe and sisters Nadine and Zahra were taken to hospital, NNA said.
Ali, Wehbe and Nadine are in a critical condition, while Zahra and her parents had minor injuries, it reported.
According to NNA, the fire was caused by an electrical short-circuit.
Also Thursday, a man identified by his first name as George K. was found dead bound to a chair inside his house in Jal el-Dib, north of Beirut.
The agency said the man was probably chocked to death.
The body of 54-year-old Nassib al-Batheesh was also found in the garage of his house in al-Mary town, near Hasbaya in the East. The man was shot in the head.
