Financial Prosecutor Judge Ali Ibrahim on Thursday pressed charges against 22 money changers of whom 18 are in custody.
Ibrahim charged the 22 suspects of carrying out illegal money exchange operations.
He also referred the file to acting First Examining Magistrate of Beirut Charbel Bou Samra.
The dollar exchange rate on the black market has been steadily surging despite the arrests, sparking angry protests across the country after it hit the LBP 80,000 mark on Thursday.
