Paris reportedly tells Lebanon gas negotiations are in its interest
French official sides informed Lebanon over the past few days that the negotiations with Israel over the demarcation of the sea border are “in Beirut’s interest,” the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation has reported.
“Provocative actions, such as the launching of drones, might harm the dialogue process,” the Israeli corporation quoted the French officials as telling Lebanon.
Senior sources in Israel meanwhile “expressed optimism that progress can be made in the negotiations,” the corporation added.
U.S. mediator Amos Hochstein is meanwhile scheduled to arrive this week in Israel to meet with Israel’s energy minister and the members of the Israeli negotiating team.
