Rahi Urges Parliament Blocs to Facilitate Govt. Lineup
President Michel Aoun received on Monday Maronite Patriarch Beshara al-Rahi who “congratulated the President on staging successful parliamentary elections,” urging the parliament blocs to facilitate the formation of the new government.
Rahi said in a statement he made to reporters after the meeting, that he is visiting Aoun to “congratulate him on the elections,” before he travels to France.
He appealed to all political forces to facilitate the formation of a government capable of facing the political, economic and financial challenges ahead, mainly the fight against corruption.
He urged them all to refrain from placing obstacles ahead of the cabinet formation, saying that “public interest should be above all other interests.”
