Moussawi Slams Hariri, Says No Place for him in Ongoing Battle in Region

Hizbullah's Loyalty to Resistance bloc MP Nawwaf al-Moussawi said on Saturday that the developments in the region are more important than those who are seeking to entertain themselves on twitter.

“Those who are seeking to entertain themselves (with the developments in the country), or on twitter… have no place in this battle (that is going on in the region),” Moussawi said.

He was hinting to former Prime Minister Saad Hariri who has chosen the social networking website Twitter as a comeback tool to reach out to followers.

Hariri has been absent from the country for nearly eight months.

“Who wants a place in Lebanon has to stand against Israel and the United States’ domination over the region,” Moussawi said.

The Hizbullah MP wondered if the Lebanese are alert to the dangers of a civil war in Syria and its repercussions on Lebanon.

“A group in Lebanon is betting on the foreign intervention and the regional developments to restore the power they’ve lost,” Moussawi stressed.

He slammed the March 14-led opposition stances, saying: “The goals of the U.S., Europe, Israel, and Gulf states in the region will affect mostly those who are betting on the success of their scheme.”

“The price of this impossible success will cost them high.”

He noted that the western countries are not seeking to implement democracy, freedom or reforms in Syria but “to replace their loss in Iraq.”

Moussawi warned that if the U.S., France and Israel couldn’t control Syria then they will seek to create a civil war there.
