A clash that erupted Friday in al-Beddawi Palestinian refugee camp near the northern city of Tripoli killed a man and wounded another, the state-run National News Agency reported on Saturday.
The clash, which broke out at midnight, spread tension in the area where armed men spread out, in parallel with vigorous mobilization of the army forces to contain the situation.
NNA added that the deceased is known as Abu Yasser, a Palestinian refugee who had fled Syria's al-Yarmouk camp near Damascus.
Media reports later added that he belonged to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine - General Command.
The wounded man is from al-Qasir family.
According to NNA, the actual cause of the clash remains unknown, and it was not clear whether it extended as a result of a fight that took place earlier between two families in the camp.
Later Saturday, the Palestinian factions held an emergency meeting, after which they decided to consolidate the joint security force at the camp.
They also tasked a committee to investigate the incident.
