Algerian soldiers killed two Islamist militants and seized guns and explosives southwest of the capital on Tuesday, the defense ministry said.
The two were killed during an early morning sweep of an area near Grabiz, southwest of Ain Defla city, a statement said.
Another three gunmen were killed on March 10 in the same general part of the country, and arms and ammunition were seized, the ministry said at the time.
Violence involving armed Islamists in Algeria has fallen considerably since the civil war of the 1990s, but groups linked to Al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb still carry out some attacks, mostly on security forces.
The army says that more than 100 armed Islamists were killed in 2014.
