Prime Minister Saad Hariri and Hizbullah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah have accepted the Saudi-Syrian initiative in all its details, pan-Arab daily al-Hayat reported Tuesday.
The newspaper said that all sides involved in the agreement between Damascus and Riyadh to solve the Lebanese crisis, primarily Hariri and Nasrallah, were informed about the deal.
"Both Hariri and Nasrallah gave their consent to it," al-Hayat said.
Sources close to the contacts between Syria and Saudi Arabia said the proposal is balanced and deals with the interests and obsessions of the Lebanese parties.
The proposal also stresses the Taef Accord and guarantees the work of government institutions, they said.
However, parliamentary majority sources denied to al-Liwaa daily any improvement in efforts by Riyadh and Damascus to end the deadlock in Lebanon.
"Saudi Arabia did not yet respond to five proposals made by Syria," the sources said.
According to al-Liwaa, Riyadh has informed Lebanese parties involved in the crisis that it was still studying the major points of the proposal and will not make a stance before it consults with the Lebanese.
