Saqr: Antelias Bombing Not Terrorist Act, Caused by Hand Grenade
State commissioner to the military court Judge Saqr Saqr ruled out on Wednesday any “terrorist act” in the bombing that shook Antelias last month, saying the military judiciary was no longer entitled to follow up the case.
The National News Agency said that Saqr received the final report of explosives experts on the bombing that left two people dead.
According to the experts, the blast went off when a western-made hand grenade exploded in a parking lot in Antelias.
NNA said that Saqr wrote a memo to the military examining magistrate telling him that the military judiciary had no longer the authority to investigate the incident after ruling out any terrorist act.
Interior Minister Marwan Charbel has said that the cause of the explosion was a result of a personal financial dispute between the two victims.
