U.S. authorities have launched a nationwide manhunt for a 42-year-old man who went on the run after explosives were found at his home in San Francisco, they said Monday.
Ryan Kelly Chamberlain II, 42, was last seen Sunday driving a car south of San Francisco with either California or Texas license plates.
"The suspect should be considered armed and dangerous," said the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in the west coast city.
Chamberlain, described as a political and media consultant, left what appeared to be an online suicide note, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
"So much was broken from this past year-and-a-half, and from moments way back before that," it quoted the three-page letter, entitled "Goodbye," as saying. "I guess it was just insurmountable, and the time's up."
Chamberlain is described as white, 6’3” tall, and 225 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a dark blue sweatshirt and blue jeans, according to the FBI.
