Three suspects handed themselves over to the army intelligence in the northern city of Tripoli, the military command said in a communique on Wednesday.
It identified the suspects as Talal Mustafa al-Issa, Khaled Jamal al-Rahi and Mahmoud Mustafa al-Hallaq.
The three of them are involved in the attack on an army patrol in the area of Bab al-Tabbaneh on Tuesday, the communique said.
The army is pursuing the rest of the assailants, it added.
Eight soldiers, including an officer, were injured at dawn Tuesday when their patrol came under an armed attack in Bab al-Tabbaneh.
The gunmen opened heavy gunfire and attacked the military patrol with rockets, prompting the army to retaliate.
