President Michel Suleiman is expected to head on Friday a cabinet session at the Baabda Palace after he returns from Rome, where he attended the canonization mass of Popes John Paul II and John XXIII that was held at the Vatican.
A ministerial source said in comments published in An Nahar newspaper on Monday that the session will not make the appointment of top civil servants in a single package.
The source pointed out that Judge Mayssam al-Noueiri will succeed Judge Omar al-Natour after his retirement as the Director General of the Ministry of Justice.
Noueiri was nominated by Justice Minister Ashraf Rifi to head the post.
Ziad Shbeib will be appointed as the new Governor of Beirut and the acting Director-General of the Head of Consumer Protection.
Shbeib will succeed Beirut's acting governor Nassif Qalloush, who allegedly sexually harassed a former employees.
